My name is Paul Henshall, I'm 54 and based in the Midlands in the UK. I have been a writer and journalist all my working life, and hold the National Council for the Training of Journalists' Proficiency Certificate.

My roles have included chief reporter, features writer and editor, researcher, copy editor, sub-editor, page designer and editor. I have also produced several works of fiction and I am a published author.

For 13 years, from 1993, I was employed by the Midlands wing of Trinity Mirror (parent company of The Daily Mirror and The Sunday Mirror). I was a freelance writer for several years in the 1980s, an occupation I resumed three years ago.
